Secured by Design

Secured by Design is best described as a project that has been put together and is run by the Association of Chief Police Officers. The project focuses on improving the design of windows, doors, and other home improvement materials in order to provide more security and better design to homes in Scotland. Northern Scotland Joinery only uses doors and windows that have Secured by Design certification thanks to their Veka profile.

Secured by Design products have been described by the ACPO as one of the best ways to improve security, ensure that residents feel safe, and improve the overall lifeline for a building, due to a decrease in any criminal activity.

Here at Northern Scotland Joinery we do our part to improve the safety of Scotland residents by possessing these certifications:

-BS PAS 24-1: 1999. This certification proves that we meet all enhanced security requirements for the installation and assembly of doors.
-BS PAS 23-1: 1999. This certifies that Northern Scotland Joinery meets all requirements for general performance.
-BS 7950: 1977. This certificate ensures that we meet all specifications for enhanced security of tilt/turn windows and casement in home installations.
